Melville Park Studio was started in 1986 by Steve Friedman. Steve's a former Ph.D. physicist (and part-time folksinger) who left a career in research to become a full-time member of Boston's acoustic music and spoken word community.

At Melville Park Studio, acoustic artists will appreciate:

  • The intimate, informal feel of the three acoustically designed performance rooms. Natural pine ceilings, soft lighting, each room spacious enough for several musicians -- yet solo performers still feel right at home
  • The selection of recording gear is an intelligent mix of tube and solid state for accuracy, clarity and warmth
  • Affordable rates and flexible booking policies that make it easy to relax and not worry about the clock
  • Console automation and computer editing that save time, encourage creativity, and reduce the pressure to deliver perfect takes
  • Engineer Steve Friedman's expertise and experience in capturing the clean, natural sound of acoustic instruments and voices

Whether you're an experienced pro or making your very first recording, a solo artist or a band, Melville Park Studio will give you high quality in a comfortable, supportive environment.
