Did You Know?:
The following early albums by some of your favorite artists are
available from Melville Park Studio in limited quantities. Price is $15
plus $1 shipping.
Jim Infantino: "Strawman" (Jim's first CD).
Vance Gilbert: "Face to Face" (Vance's first "folk" album.
Originally only on cassette, but I'll put it on CD).
Kerri Powers: "Sleepwalking Again" (Kerri's first album).
Thomas Keene: "Searching for Ward and June" (Thomas's first and
only album, for those with long memories)!
PROJECTS
Craig Sonnenfeld's
“Heart
of a Man” has been released, as has the second Brookline Artbarn
Community Theater album.
In progress are a
recording of Lorraine Hammond's “Muddy River Suite” sponsored by
the Brookline Greenspace Alliance, a new album by Joyce Doncaster who
is returning to performing after a hiatus of several years, and an
album by Kevin Griffin.
The Folk Song Society
of
Greater Boston 50th Anniversary Album is also underway.
The Society promotes and preserves traditional American, English and
Celtic folk music (and contemporary music in the traditional style)
through monthly concerts by major artists of the genre, house
concerts, singing parties, an extensive library, and other
activities.
NEW GEAR
Well, not so "new" any more, but just FYI:
Melville Park has ProTools HD2 Accel, with 24 channels of interface
supporting sampling rates up to 96kHz, and lots of great plug-ins.
Also the Focusrite ISA 428 four-channel mic preamp. It nicely
complements my Millennia 4-channel HV-3D and Amek 9098 ultra-high
quality mic pres.
I still support ADAT, Sony PCM (both VHS and Beta) and cassettes.
Believe it or not, there really was a time when recording wasn't done
on computers!
