Did You Know:
The following early albums by some of your favorite artists are
available from Melville Park Studio in limited quantities. Price is $15
plus $1 shipping.
Jim Infantino: "Strawman" (Jim's first solo CD, before "Jim's Big
Ego").
Vance Gilbert: "Face to Face" (Vance's first "folk" album.
Originally only on cassette, but I'll put it on CD).
Kerri Powers: "Sleepwalking Again" (Kerri's first album).
Thomas Keene: "Searching for Ward and June" (Thomas's first and
only album, for those with long memories)!
PROJECTS
Jan Luby, Craig Sonnenfeld and John Olivere have started new
albums. All have made two previous albums at Melville Park, Jan's first
being a cassette album way back in 1990!
Recently completed projects are albums
from Michael
Troy and Bethel Steele, a "live in-studio" album by Chris Wilhelm, and
a live EP from Carlyn Hutchins recorded at the Roslindale Open Mike.
Carlyn formerly hosted the open mike; since her move to Plymouth (where
she now runs the Driftwood Folk Cafe) it is now run by Neal Braverman
and Mike Delaney.
Irish seisun singer Liam Hart's album is nearly done.
Two short "EP" length albums have been released using material recorded
entirely at the Club Passim open mike. An album of Indian (as in India)
music performed by Tom Lena and friends, and an album by
singer/songwriter K.B. Marie. Over the years several artists have
released albums from the open mike, which I record each week, direct to
multi-track so that the performances can be mixed in the studio.
In the "something different" department, I've been making a series of
recordings of John F. Kennedy "personifier" Mike Lowe. He recreates
Kennedy's speeches with a rhythm and accent so realistic that after a
couple of minutes you really feel as if Kennedy himself were speaking.
Other recent spoken word projects include two audition demos for radio
DJ jobs.
